It's weird, but I played a ton of it in a short amount of time with a friend of mine. If you wind up far enough away from cities or towns, you won't see a zombie (and sometimes other people) for a very long time. Died a few times, but ultimately, got most of the good gear and now I'm not sure what else to do. I've put 50 or 60 hours, maybe more, into it. It's super realistic and can be played as a pretty hardcore experience. Even for an alpha, it's quite nice to look at. I've got and have played all 3 quite a bit.ÄayZ looks great. But the persistent world element keeps me coming back to Rust. That's not to say that DayZ players don't have a similar experience. Pillars are more effective than barricades. It was raided almost instantly and I lost everything. In the hundred+ hours I've put into Rust I feel like I've learned so much and the progression has been so.organic? It took forever to build my first two room house with a metal door. Spend three hours building an epic mountain castle? Too bad you neglected throw down some pillars around the exterior because we just built some stairs and walked into your loot room. The stakes feel higher, as not only is your gear up for grabs, but your home and your stash as well. Building and defending a structure immediately invests you in that world and that server. There's much more of a game there right now and the resource collection/persistent world/PVP gameplay is just SO compelling. Between Rust and DayZ (in their current alpha states), it's Rust all the way for me. I only have DayZ and Rust, so I can't speak to 7 Days to Die.
